Causeway Coast and Glens Local Action Group is open for applications to the Rural Business Investment Scheme in 2018 as part of the NI Rural Development Programme, 2014-2020. The scheme provides an opportunity for rural businesses and social enterprises to avail of grant funding for projects that can deliver growth and create jobs.

Causeway Coast and Glens Local Action Group have now committed over £1 million to rural businesses since first opening for applications in 2016. Amongst those who have availed of the funding is Portrush-based business Hampton Conservatories LTD. The company specialises in the manufacturing of conservatories and orangeries, exporting their products to markets around the world. The company was awarded funding of £90,000 to purchase manufacturing machinery that will allow the company to diversify into the windows and doors market.

Commenting on the completion of the project, Causeway Coast and Glens LAG Board Member Cllr Mark Fielding said, “This Company is a great example of the potential rural businesses in our area have to take their products and services and export them to global markets. The investment from the LAG into this project will have a number of key benefits to the local area, none more so than the creation of four new full-time jobs. Congratulations to Mervyn, Kim and the entire team at Hampton Conservatories. “

Company director Mervyn Montgomery commented: “On behalf of Hampton Conservatories LTD I would like to thank the LAG for approving our project for funding. For over 30 years our company has strived to deliver top quality products to customers around the world, and we are confident of continuing this through the introduction of new bespoke window and door products that we can now bring to market. This is only with the support of funding from the Rural Development Programme and Causeway Coast and Glens Local Action Group.”
