Causeway Coast and Glens Local Action Group will be opening for applications to the Rural Business Investment Scheme in October 2017 as part of the NI Rural Development Programme, 2014-2020. The scheme provides an opportunity for rural businesses and social enterprises to avail of grant funding for projects that can deliver growth and create jobs.

Causeway Coast and Glens Local Action Group has now committed over £1.1 million to rural businesses since first opening for applications in 2016. Amongst those who have successfully applied for and drawn down funding is Limavady Roller Doors, who were awarded funding of £21,994. Established in 2007 by Alan Barr, the company provides a high quality range of access equipment to service commercial, industrial and residential markets. The funding awarded to LR Doors has enabled them to purchase essential equipment, including a Roll Former that will shorten lead-times and enhance the quality of the company’s products.

Limavady Roller Doors has now completed the project and has integrated all newly funded equipment into their facility. Mr Barr expressed his delight with the outcome of his project, stating “the funding has provided great help to our business by assisting us in purchasing equipment that is already helping us to increase our output. I’d like to thank the local LAG for making this support available and would fully recommend other Rural Businesses to give the LAG admin unit a call“.

Commenting on the completion of the project, Causeway Coast and Glens LAG Board Member Anthony McGarvey commented “The LAG is extremely eager to help rural businesses and groups in this Borough to avail of our funding. Visiting the likes of Alan and his team is hugely encouraging for LAG members like myself, as we can see the end-product and subsequent benefits of the investment funds we manage. Limavady Roller Doors is an impressive operation and we wish Alan every success in the future as his business continues to grow.”
