Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council appoints new provider for car park enforcement.

** Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has appointed a new provider for enforcement in its car parks. **

From November 1st 2019 the service will be carried out by Car Park Services Ltd.

An extensive engagement process has been ongoing with all parties to ensure the changeover is as seamless as possible.

New signage will be put in place in all Pay and Display off-street car parks located within the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area and the new car park Traffic Attendants will wear a predominantly blue uniform.

Parking regulations remain the same, and members of the public are asked to continue to follow these key guidelines:

  • Park appropriately within the markings of a parking bay.
  • Pay for parking via the Pay & Display machine or use the cashless option and  pay for your parking using your mobile phone, smartphone users can download a free app. All details on cashless payments can be found on the side of all P&D machines in each car park.

There will be no change to Pay and Display machines and location codes for cashless parking will remain the same.

Season tickets will still be available at a discounted price in all Council car parks.

Traffic Attendants will continue to carry out random enforcement patrols as before and any vehicle found to be in contravention will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

Dunluce Avenue Car Park, Portrush.

After being assessed by the British Parking Association, Dunluce Avenue car park in Portrush has been awarded the Disabled Parking Accreditation (DPA) award and also the Park Mark Safer Parking Award.
This Disabled Parking Accreditation award recognises off-street car parks that are accessible to disabled people.
It is an independent not not-for-profit scheme run by Disabled Motoring UK and managed by the British Parking Association. The DPA aims at providing parking for disabled motorists and reducing the abuse of disabled bays.
Car Parks that achieve the DPA will be demonstrating to their customers that they are committed to creating high quality parking facilities for disabled people.
The Safer Parking Scheme is administered by the British Parking Association and is a national standard for UK car parks that have low crime and measures in place to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.
A Park Mark is awarded to each car park that achieves the challenging standards. The distinctive Park Mark signage helps drivers find car parks where they can confidently leave their vehicle, knowing the environment is safer.
Whilst there are other private facilities in Northern Ireland which hold these awards, Causeway Coast and Glens and Borough Council are the first and only local authority in Northern Ireland to gain these prestigious Awards.
