If the place of interment is a Church Cemetery then written consent should be obtained from both the Church and Council's Health and Built Environment Services. Council and the Police Service should also be notified of the planned date and time of exhumation.

If the place of interment is a Council Cemetery then consent should be obtained from the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland and Council's Health and Built Environment Services. Council and the Police Service should also be notified of the planned date and time of exhumation.
