Call for Social Partners for the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council PEACEPLUS Partnership

The Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan is currently being developed and seeks applications from Social Partners to support the development and direction of the Local Action Plan for PEACEPLUS Programme as part of the Co-Design process.

PEACEPLUS is a new European Union funding programme designed to support Peace & prosperity across Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of Ireland, building upon the previous PEACE and INTERREG programmes. The design reflects the importance of peace-building activity but also the importance of actions that will contribute positively to the economy, build prosperity, and adjust to  the increasing challenges we face in society.

The PEACEPLUS Partnership will be broadly representative of the community, reflecting the demography of the borough, Social Partners will be chosen across from a broad geographic representation of communities/settlements across the area and will be reflective of the groups identified under section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act, or local interest groups, culminating in a diverse, dynamic, and engaged Partnership.  It will function as a voluntary body, responsible for the implementation of the strategy 2021-2027 and will comprise 11 local authority elected members, 11 social partners and advisory representatives from the Statutory Agencies.

It is a basic requirement that members of the Partnership should either live in, or have a significant interest, in the geographical area covered by the Council cluster.  This is an open call for applications, and each will be competitively assessed using clearly defined criteria as outlined in the guidance notes.  Applications are now invited from nominated individuals with knowledge, skills and/ or experience in the following areas: Good Relations and Peace Building; ability to identify local challenges and opportunities local; operational planning; project appraisal; leadership and partnership working and must be able to demonstrate the capacity to commit to the work of the Partnership.

Deadline for submissions is Friday 20th May 2022 12 Midday.
