Gender

Women, Men, Transgender men/women - Neutral impact

The strategy and action plan has been developed specifically for residents aged 55+.
It is not gender specific and although women tend to live longer there is no clear evidence that the strategy and action plans impact will be more than a neutral impact on this group.
       
     
Race
The categories used in the Race section are those used in the 2011 census.  Consideration should be given to the needs of specific communities within the broad categories.

The strategy and action plan has been developed specifically for residents aged 55+.

Long term health impairment could include mental health problems, asthma, heart conditions, chronic fatigue etc.

Positive Impact

The following actions have developed in the action plan to have a positive impact on older residents with a disability. 

1d. Reduce loneliness among looked-after older people, disabled older people and older people with dementia.
4e. Maximise the accessibility and inclusivity of age-friendly events, publications, websites, and listings including, for example, including translation.

The Causeway Coast and Glens Age-Friendly Strategy is a recognition that our ageing population should be celebrated for the wealth of skills, experience, and knowledge it brings to our society.  The strategy and action plan has been developed specifically for residents aged 55+.

The strategy and action plan details 35 key actions emanating from the following high level outcomes:
(Older) people in the Borough have opportunities to improve health and wellbeing and can access appropriate services
(Older) people in the Borough can access suitable forms of transport
(Older) people in the Borough are supported to live independently, safely, and efficiently
(Older) people in the Borough can access relevant knowledge and information.
