WALKING FOOTBALL COMES TO COLERAINE

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is inviting men of Coleraine who are over 50 years of age, to come back and play football! Council has developed the game they once loved into a ‘Come and Try It Dander Football’, developed to maintain their health and fitness. Sessions take place on Thursday 26th November and Thursday 10th December, from 2pm until 4pm at Score Football Centre, Hillmans Way, Coleraine.

For males over the age of 50, Dander Football is a slower version of the beautiful game that was designed to help get men off the side-lines. It is aimed to get men back into football and exercise, but with the exception of running and slide tackles! Sessions will be led by Council’s Active Communities coaches with an emphasis of enjoyment and a social element with refreshments provided at the end of each session.

This event is funded through the Northern Partnership for Physical Activity in-conjunction with Neighbourhood Renewal Coleraine. For further information please contact Stephen McCartney, at Council’s Sports Development & Physical Recreation Team, by telephoning 028 7034 7234 or email stephen.mccartney@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk.
