Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Steven Callaghan has hosted the record-breaking Loughgiel Shamrocks Senior Camogie team to recognise their incredible success over recent years.

Last year, the team secured the Antrim Senior title for the 10th year in a row, as well as clinching their second successive Ulster title.

Cllr Callaghan said: “In my role as Mayor, it gives me great pleasure to highlight the sporting achievements of teams and individuals in our Borough.

“What this club has achieved is an incredible feat and everyone involved should be very proud. The string of title victories is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the players and their coaches for the sport they love and they are fully deserving of their success.

“These girls are helping to inspire the next generation of players and I have no doubt that Loughgiel Shamrocks Camogie Club will continue to strive for further success in the coming years.”
