Get involved with new Engagement Platform for Causeway Coast and Glens community and voluntary sector

Fri, October 12, 2018

Are you a member of a local community or voluntary group?

Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Strategic Partnership is calling on individuals active within the voluntary sector to participate in a Community Engagement Platform.

It aims to provide an opportunity to build relationships and connect more voices to local public services and decision making bodies. This will help highlight the collective interests of the local community and voluntary sector while acting as a borough wide platform for consultation and engagement. It will also provide an opportunity for community representation on Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Partnership.

Councillor Dermot Nicholl, Chairperson of Causeway Coast and Glens Community Planning Strategic Partnership explained “This is an exciting new initiative and it is hoped that those participating will reflect the wide range of groups and communities across the area, with a commitment to representing the views of the wider sector and in turn sharing information and feedback back to communities.”

“Such connections will help grow trust, relationships and ongoing communication across our communities and so we would encourage everyone that has an interest to sign up to attend.”

Participation is open to any interested individual active in the local community and voluntary sector of Causeway Coast and Glens.

An introductory meeting will take place on Wednesday 24th October in The Lodge Hotel in Coleraine at 7pm.

The first meeting will explore the rationale for the platform, the benefits for those involved, including discussion and agreement for the way forward.
