Be a resident in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area;
Be aged over 21;
Be eligible to work in the UK;
Be willing to undertake a medical examination;
Hold a full, valid Northern Ireland Driving Licence.
Be currently unemployed or at risk of redundancy.

Access NI checks will be required for candidates who want to complete the bus driver training.

Welcoming the initiative, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Ivor Wallace said: “This is an exciting opportunity for eligible candidates as the academy will provide all the necessary training, theory and practical learning needed to pass the HGV or bus driver’s test and greatly enhance their employability and future prospects.

“I would encourage anyone with an interest in starting their driving career to get their application in before the January 16th closing date”

Marc McGerty, Manager of Causeway Coast and Glens LMP said: “We are very pleased to be working with Sandy Arthur’s Training Services to deliver this programme, and I hope Academy will remove any financial barrier that may prevent individuals pursuing a career in the sector.”
