More than 170 participants joined Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Museums Service for six special workshops in Ballymoney as part of its annual Playful Museums Festival.

Aimed at children aged under five, the Treasured Teddies project invited local playgroups and nurseries to Ballymoney Museum to look at the history of the Teddy bear, coinciding with the Treasured Toys exhibition.
During the workshop, the children explored the exhibition, created teddy bear crafts, played within the new kids’ area and created their own teddy bear in a Build a Bear workshop.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Steven Callaghan, said it was “great to see children learning through play, and all the good work being done at Ballymoney Museum, a fantastic resource for the community and a place well deserving of a visit”.

The project was delivered with support from the NIMC Playful Museums Festival Grant funding, supported by Art Fund.
