Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council was delighted to host tourism and hospitality businesses from across the local area for an event aimed at helping the industry to grow their online presence and drive increased sales.

The information-packed event, hosted by the Council at its civic headquarters in conjunction with Tourism NI and Tourism Exchange Great Britain (TXGB), attracted a range of business including accommodation providers, attractions, experiences and outdoor recreation.

Ten businesses held one-to-one meetings with Tourism NI and TXGB, allowing them to gain valuable insight into the benefits of increased digital visibility and becoming bookable online.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Steven Callaghan said: “The ultimate goal of this information session was to educate the businesses in the tourism and hospitality sectors how to take full advantage of the digital tools at their disposal.

“Those in attendance were given an understanding of the benefits of integrating the TXGB online booking system into their businesses, allowing them to expand sales by reaching wider audiences.

“It is important that businesses are familiar with the latest digital technologies and are confident in how to utilise these to achieve their full potential. Council was pleased to join with Tourism NI and TXGB to deliver this information session.”

The platform used by TXGB is compatible with Tourism NI’s consumer website, and Council’s Destination website, Visit Causeway Coast and Glens, so potential visitors planning a trip to the area can make an instant booking with the businesses who have signed up.
