Public event about Portrush Consultation Forum

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is calling on you to have your say on the future of Portrush.

Members of the public, residents, traders, visitors and all interested parties are invited to attend a public event in Portrush Town Hall on Thursday, September 29th at 7pm.

Establishing the Portrush Consultation Forum will play a crucial role in the town’s regeneration.

The forum will be inclusive and open to all members of the public who have an interest in reaffirming Portrush’s position as Northern Ireland’s premier resort destination.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Mayor, Alderman Maura Hickey, said: “It’s vitally important that we capitalise on the opportunities we are now presented with. We know the staging of The Open in 2019 will put Portrush on the world stage. For this to create a legacy for the town we need to adopt a collective approach which will place Portrush and indeed the entire Borough in the best possible position.

“The Executive recently committed £500,000 towards initial design work for a town centre public realm scheme and the redevelopment of the train station. But this, we hope, is just the start of a multi-million pound vision for Portrush which has the potential to create significant economic returns for the region. I would encourage everyone to get involved with this process and help to build the Portrush of the future.”
