Mayor's tribute following death of Alderman John Finlay

Tue, August 02, 2022

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Ivor Wallace, has paid tribute to Alderman John Finlay following his death on Monday 1st August 2022, saying that he will be sorely missed by all.

"As Mayor I want to pass on my thoughts and prayers to John’s wife Linda and daughters Naomi and Rebekah and his wider family circle.

John had a great faith in his Lord and Saviour and by now he has met him face to face.

His faith and his family were his priority, but he just loved serving his constituents in and around Causeway Coast and Glens.

John was generous with his time and his money and would never have seen anyone stuck.

John 14 gives us all great comfort. A place was already prepared.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

A Book of Condolence is available to sign in Ballymoney Town Hall from Tuesday 2nd August, or alternatively click here to leave a message in an online book.

Opening hours: Ballymoney Town Hall: 9am – 5pm Monday – Saturday.
