Limavady Celebration of Food

Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre is inviting you to taste the best of local produce from some of the finest culinary purveyors of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough at its, ‘A Celebration of Food’ event on Saturday 4th July 2015. Taking place from 10.00am until 4.00pm, the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre welcomes everyone to come along and enjoy the best of local produce during this one-day food event. Local food producers will be in attendance offering a selection of artisan foods, with tastings, cookery demonstrations and ‘Food’ talks throughout the day. Pamela Hayes of Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre said, ‘There will be lots of delicious produce for sale and a varied selection of new produce to sample on the day. This event is a celebration of food offering so much variety which will appeal to everyone’s tastes. ‘There will also be children’s entertainment including; face-painting, balloon modelling and some special guests in dress up. Children will also be encouraged to get involved in the “Dig for Victory” which will involve planting their own vegetable seeds which they can then take home and grow. ‘Special guest and local celebrity chef Paula McIntyre, a resident chef on BBC Radio Ulster will be cooking up a storm and sharing with everyone her culinary skills. Paula, who comes from a farming background enjoy­s traditional home cooking and uses the finest ingredients sourced from within Northern Ireland in all of her recipes. She will be joined by a selection of local chefs who will demonstrate cooking with local produce. Dinner time will never be the same again! ‘Expect some very special offers from some of Limavady’s finest traders who will be attending. Whether you’re a serious foodie or simply enjoy a great family day out, I’d encourage you not to miss out on this great food event. Everyone’s welcome!’ The ‘A Celebration of Food’ event will include samples from a variety of traders who will be selling items including fresh fruit and vegetables, artisan rapeseed oil, pesto, cheeses, chutneys, preserves and jams and some sweet treats including popcorn, homemade chocolates and ice-creams.
