Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership (LMP) was delighted to support an interactive engineering and manufacturing roadshow aimed at inspiring and informing students.

The event, hosted by GEMX - a leading advocate for fostering talent in the manufacturing and engineering sectors – took place at the NWRC Limavady Campus and was attended by over 350 Year 10 pupils from schools across the Borough and beyond.

Causeway Coast and Glens LMP part funded the event and will also provide funding towards the follow-up competition, which will be an Experience Day at Terex, Campsie.

The interactive roadshow is a unique platform, bringing together 14 manufacturing and engineering companies, while showcasing innovative teaching areas within NWRC. This combination created an immersive experience, enabling students to engage with industry professionals and learn about potential career paths.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Steven Callaghan attended the event and said: “This roadshow was a wonderful opportunity for students to get hands-on with a range of activities and gain invaluable practical knowledge.

“It also allowed them to meet people working in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. These young people are the next generation of talent and events like this provide invaluable insight that will help inform their future career trajectories.”

GEMX is supported under Invest NI’s Collaborative Growth Programme. More information on GEMX is available from joanne@gemx.uk
