Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is introducing free workshops for the tourism and hospitality sector around environmental sustainability, seasonal employment, food allergens and hygiene ratings.

The series will be rolled out over the coming months, with businesses benefiting from expert advice and insight into these important themes.

Stay Smart Workshop

The Destination Tourism Team, in association with Environmental Resources, are promoting a new initiative called 'StaySmart'. This programme supports sustainable practices within the tourism and hospitality sector and offers important guidance for those working to become more sustainable. To find out more, you are invited to attend a Workshop on Tuesday 26th February from 11am–1pm in the Dalriada Room, Riada House, Ballymoney.

The workshop will look at businesses' environmental impact, capturing all the positive efforts already happening while also identifying changes which will enable them to market or promote their business using different language.  It will identify positive and practical changes which make a difference within the communities in which we live, work and play.

The aim of the initiative is to create a charter for a more responsible Causeway Coast and Glens which will help ensure the natural and physical resources we have are conserved or enhanced now and future generations.

Seasonal Employment Information Session

In association with the Labour Relations Agency, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is running a targeted Seasonal Employment Information session on Tuesday 12th March at 5.30pm in Portrush Town Hall.

As visitor numbers to Causeway Coast and Glens Destination continue to grow each year, local businesses are employing increasing numbers of seasonal staff.  With The Open taking place in July, more staff than ever will be required to service the needs of visitors.

This event provides free information and guidance to those considering or concerned about seasonal recruitment, covering the types of contract, key issues for employers including holiday entitlement.   It will also give you the chance to meet members from the regional Labour Relations Agency team, with an opportunity for one to one discussion and establish ongoing support.
