The Open: Business Impact Survey
For the first time in almost 70 years, The 148th Open returned to Royal Portrush Golf Club in July 2019. As one of the four biggest golf events in the world, the 148th Open saw a sell-out championship, with an estimated 215,000 visitors to the area, and an unprecedented media focus, reaching a TV audience of 80 million. To date The Open is the largest event ever to be held in Ireland.
Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council was one of a number of event partners involved in the organisation of the ‘off the course’ arrangements, to enable and support the tournament coming to the area. Partners will be evaluating various aspects of their involvement in the coming months.
Council is keen to hear the views and experiences of the businesses in the Borough (across all sectors) about the Open coming to the area, both good and bad. Did it benefit your business and as a business owner were you happy with the assistance and information provided to businesses by the Council.
We appreciate if you could take a few minutes to complete the short survey below. Responses will help the Council to evaluate their involvement in the event and to make any changes/improvements for when The Open inevitably returns to Royal Portrush Golf Club.
All responses to this survey will be treated in confidence.
Many thanks for your assistance.
