Portrush

Kerr Street and Portrush Harbour Environmental Improvement Scheme Consultation
12 week consultation begins
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is undertaking a Community Consultation with regard to a design concept, for improvement works at Kerr Street and the Harbour in Portrush. The duration of the Consultation period is Monday 22nd November 2021 – Sunday 13th February 2022.
Scope of design concept
The design involves environmental improvements, largely to the Harbour walkway on Kerr Street. It will extend from Station Square to the Harbour and onto Lower Main Street to link with previous improvements carried out during the Portrush Regeneration Project.
Funding for design concept
This design-only phase is being funded by the Department for Communities. Should this phase be successfully completed, the Department for Communities will make a bid for funding the construction phase.
Consultation methods
Under current government restrictions with regard to public gatherings, a public meeting will not be held. However, Council has put in place alternative arrangements to gather the views of interested parties, including drop-in sessions, Zoom/Microsoft Teams meetings with specific interest groups which will allow opportunities for feedback on-line, by email or in person.
Weekly drop-in opportunities
In addition, weekly drop-in events will take place in Portrush Town Hall for those who wish to review the scheme design, clarify details and provide feedback to Council Officers in person. These will be held between 12noon and 2pm on Wednesdays commencing Wednesday 24th November 2021 and will continue weekly until 10th February 2022. Please note that there are no drop-in sessions planned for Wednesday 22nd and 29th December.
Where to view the design concepts
The proposed improvement works is available to view here together with a questionnaire/feedback form if you would like to respond on-line. The concept design drawing and questionnaire/feedback form will also be available at Portrush Library throughout the duration of the consultation.
