Applications are now open for the October 2023 Chef Academy in Portrush in partnership with Ramore Restaurants.

 

Across all of their Portrush venues Ramore Restaurants employ over 100 chefs and are looking to continue to grow. If you have a passion for good food and if you would like to start your career as a chef, then this academy is exactly what you need!

On the 4-week Chef Academy you will learn:

  • Expert culinary training from People 1st and professional chefs working across Ramore Restaurants.
  • Real kitchen experience on-site in Portrush.
  • Industry recognised qualifications including Allergen Awareness and Food Safety.
  • Employability support such as Interview Skills, CV Development and more!

All candidates will have a guaranteed job interview with Ramore Restaurants after completion of the Chef Academy. If unsuccessful our team will help you find suitable employment elsewhere.

 

What are the Eligibility Criteria?

You must live in the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area.

You must also be eligible to work in the UK (evidence will be required).

Finally, candidates must also be genuinely looking for employment.

 

When will the Chef Academy take place?

The Chef Academy will take place for 4 weeks, commencing on Monday 2nd October 2023, concluding on Friday 27th October 2023. The academy will start at 10.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

 

Where does the training take place?

Training will take place in Portrush in Ramore Restaurants, 1 Harbour Road, Portrush, Co Antrim BT56 8DF.

 

What other training is available if I get a job at the end of the Chef Academy?

In addition to ongoing training and development within Ramore Restaurants, candidates who secure employment at the end of the Chef Academy will be given the opportunity to undertake additional training and development, including NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Professional Cookery. This will be subject to candidate eligibility. 

 

Who are the Chef Academy Partners?

The Chef Academy will be delivered in partnership with People 1st and Ramore Restaurants, supported and funded by the Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership, the Department for Communities and local Jobs and Benefits Offices.

 

Is there additional support if I get offered a place on the Chef Academy?

Successful candidates may be eligible to receive 100% support for costs such as travel and childcare during the 4-week academy.
