Ballykelly Heathrow Logistics Hub Bid
Ballykelly Heathrow Logistics Hub Bid - Supply Chain Partners Sought
A Request from MJM Group
MJM Group owned by the McConville family from Rathfriland, Co. Down has three trading businesses MJM Marine, Mivan and Topglass. Their three businesses deliver high end interior fitout and exterior services to the marine, high end residential, and commercial sectors. With people at the heart of the organisation, their aim is to deliver the highest quality and craftsmanship for our clients. Everything they do is designed and created to deliver an exceptional experience. They also have a property division which incorporates a range of commercial interests including the former Shackleton Barracks in Ballykelly, Limavady. This is a 620-acre site which they have plans in place to develop to create sustainable employment.
One of the opportunities they are pursuing, is the delivery of a Heathrow Logistics Hub, to support the off-site construction of Heathrow Airport’s £14bn expansion programme. http://mediacentre.heathrow.com/pressrelease/details/81/Expansion-News-23/9971 This would be a game changer for the Northern Ireland economy and the construction/manufacturing/logistics sectors.
"We, as a group of businesses have the facilities and the expertise to support this project but we need to demonstrate that we have the supply chain to help deliver this in Northern Ireland. As such, we are asking businesses and stakeholders right across Northern Ireland to express an interest in potentially being part of the supply chain if we are successful in our bid. We do not know exactly what the requirement would be from a Northern Ireland site yet- it could be consolidation, manufacturing, testing, R&D or any element of the process involved in delivering such a significant project.
We want to show that we have a range of capabilities in Northern Ireland from ambitious SMEs through to large entities who are already supplying into Heathrow or similar scale entities. We would be delighted if you willing to add your company to our potential supply chain and if we are successful, that you too may be in with a chance to get involved."
