Coastal Core Training Limavady
"Our sister company Coastal Core Medical is a private ambulance service providing range of services such as; event medical cover, patient transportation etc. However, as a small business in the Causeway Coast and Glens Council area, I found it hard to know where to turn for business support. I came across Alchemy by mistake and am so glad that I did!
The Council team (Alchemy) have been fantastic. I have received support from them which has allowed the business to flourish. We had 2 full time staff and now have applied for Invest NI funding to grow to 9 full time staff! The process has been well executed, open and honest, and most importantly focused around the business needs at all times.
We have received help and support from Alchemy which in turn help us to apply for further support from Invest NI, for which I am very grateful. I would encourage any small businesses who need guidance to contact the Alchemy project."

Broughgammon Farm Ballycastle
"Here at Broughgammon Farm we’re obsessed with providing the best quality, tastiest produce fresh from our small farm in Co.Antrim. We set up the farm back in 2011, to rear male goats for delicious and healthy cabrito kid goat meat. Since then we’ve branched out into rearing free-range rose veal and also seasonal wild game.
We have our own artisan on-site butchery, run seasonal cookery, butchery and wild game classes and have a little farm shop. We are always looking ahead and we hope to increase our service to the public, by making better use of our farmers markets, making our products more accessible.
We requested support from the Council’s Alchemy mentoring programme to develop a strategic growth plan and financial management which would include the various strands of the overall Farm offering. This supported us in our efforts to secure finances and we were successful in receiving a letter of offer for funding through Causeway Coast and Glens Rural Development Funding for farm development.
We have geared ourselves up ready to access new customers in the ROI and Mainland UK as soon as we have implemented the project funded by the RDP."
Charlie Cole, Broughgammon Farm, Ballycastle
"I received mentoring to carry out market research and develop a business growth plan. I needed to focus on marketing through social media and create an online presence to raise awareness of my property services. My mentor helped me to develop a new brand, corporate logo to use across social media, websites, vehicles and stationery. I can truly say that everything I did with the mentor through Alchemy is brilliant, I'm genuinely chuffed with it all!"

Body Conscious, Ballycastle
"I have received mentoring to review my pricing, products/services and how these are presented to the marketplace. The mentor and I also researched viability of renting premises as well as consider how my website should provide sufficient information and appropriate calls to action."
I want to extend my thanks for allocating me a mentor - she's just great, sooo helpful and wise. Exactly what I needed it seems!"

I heard about the Alchemy Programme from a friend of mine, and thought that it would be helpful to gain some insight, experience, and knowledge about our international expansion and growth plans. I had done a lot of thinking about how best to expand in order to have a fixed presence internationally (whether that be franchising, licensing, or employing a team in each location - all of which have pros and cons). In truth, I had been so busy running, managing and delivering our programmes and team locally that I had become a little bit lost in all the information and energy needed to expand, so I thought extra brain power would really help.
I met with my Alchemy mentor pretty regularly and we worked through the expansion plan. She helped, and encouraged, me to nail down some of the costs associated with franchising, licensing, and employing internationally, which will help me decide the best and most effective way to grow teams outside of NI.
It was really useful to be able to discuss and chat through the ideas I had around supporting these future teams, how training would work, equipment, etc, and to get good feedback on my ideas around these areas helped to build my confidence in this. Through this process I took on an additional team member locally, the business continues to grow well, and even having discussed costs and revenue of future markets with my mentor helped in providing clarity on adding to our team locally.
I would definitely recommend the Alchemy programme to other small businesses. For me, as a small business owner, the thing I found most useful was being able to get my head out of the usual day to day work and set aside time to intentionally discuss our plans with someone who has experience and knowledge in that area.

Euro Autospares, Armoy
The Alchemy programme has helped Euro Autospares to grow well beyond expectations. This year our company hopes to employ at least three new members of staff. As well as job creation Euro Autospares also looks forward to a number of other exciting developments, mainly that of our in house software which we hope to incorporate this year.
The Alchemy programme allowed our business to take the next step in growing our business and becoming an employer, with confidence, and a clear path knowing the direction of growth we wanted to go in.
Without the support from Alchemy programmes' business consultants, taking the next step would have been much more challenging and slower.
The alchemy programme allowed Euro Autospares to utilize the time, expertise and industry knowledge of numerous business consultants which as a result helped to establish new leads within our industry, prepare us to become an employer, kick start our marketing strategy and to get structure and consistency throughout the business. Through reaching out to the council Alchemy programme Euro Autospares changed and implemented procedures and policies across many areas including health and safety, HR, financial and marketing to name a few.
Euro Autospares strongly recommends The Alchemy programme to any business owner who feels "stuck" and unsure of the direction they need to go in to take the next step in growing their business or who like us can't find valuable time to dedicate to vital research and "getting things done" to grow the business. Our assigned consultant worked with us when and where it suited us around business demands.
The Alchemy programme is proof that there is help available for local businesses out there, if only we reach out and ask for it. Thank you to all involved within this valuable and worthwhile programme.
