These awards provide entrepreneurs in the UK who are looking to enter the creative industries and who have a desire to create and sustain social value through their enterprise. Start-up capital, business training and mentoring will be provided.

 

Background

Launched in 1993, the Deutsche Bank Awards for Creative Entrepreneurs (DBACE) are part of the bank’s global enterprise programmeMade for Good, which supports the success of pioneering ideas and business models to help drive positive change in society.

Deutsche Bankis one of the largest financial institutions in the world. It has a history for supporting the arts and possesses one of the most significant corporate contemporary art collections in the world,The Deutsche Bank Collection.The award is a natural extension of this commitment and to Deutsche Bank’s core business.

In 2014 Deutsche Bank re-launched and extended the Deutsche Bank Awards.

Since 2019, Deutsche Bank has been working with the creative industries incubator and networkMeWe360to relaunch the awards. MeWe is a not-for-profit incubator for the creative industries and helps creatives develop thriving enterprises.

Objectives of Fund

The Deutsche Bank Awards for Creative Enterprise (DBACE) help creative entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality. Aspiring individuals who want to go into business in the creative industries and require practical and financial support are being targeted. Applicants will be able to explore, develop and establish their creative ideas into sustainable ventures - through business planning training, mentoring and capital funding for starting-up in business.

The bank is working with MeWe360 to find the best talent wanting to drive positive social impact through their creative enterprise. The programme aims to enable and celebrate creative entrepreneurship for social good led by 18-30-year olds in the UK today.

DBACE will support visionary creative entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-30 who are driven by a mission to create and sustain social value through their enterprise. DBACE aims to reach ambitious individuals from all backgrounds with ideas that will improve the lives of others and their communities.

The Competition offers entrants the chance to win up to £20,000 to fund their creative enterprise and a year of business support. It is an awards programme designed to provide financial and business support to help launch and/or grow creative enterprises with a positive social impact.

Value Notes

The prize package is designed to give applicants everything they need to power up their idea or existing business so that they can take it to the next level.

There is a cash prize fund of £60,000, shared amongst five winners.

Support includes:

  • Up to £20,000 investment to start or grow an enterprise.
  • Membership to MeWe360’s Incubator programme, including 12-months of business support with MeWe360 and Deutsche Bank’s industry & business mentors.
  • Recognition and the opportunity to raise a profile within the industry.
  • Access to peer and industry contacts.
  • Leverage to bring in additional funding and access to further investment opportunities.
  • specially tailored business and leadership training for the cohort of winners.

Who Can Apply

To apply, applicants must:

  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Have a strong idea or an existing business in the creative industries.
  • Want to create positive social impact through their enterprise.
  • Be focussed and committed.

The applicant does not already have to have set up a business. They just need to be ready to grow with their idea.

DBACE welcomes applications from the following sectors:

  • Immersive technology
  • Music
  • Performing & visual arts
  • Publishing

The applicant must be able to demonstrate that a key driver for the business is to create positive social impact. It can be a not-for-profit or a commercial idea/enterprise.
