Extensive planning is carried out for The Open to ensure that disruption is minimised during the Championship week and in the construction and derig phases.
This will include a range of measures to reduce any potential inconvenience for residents.
Construction will begin in April 2019 and the de-rig is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2019.
During the construction phase, temporary infrastructure such as grandstands and scoreboards will be built, followed by the spectator village and public catering areas situated around the course. An off-site contractors' reporting office will be set up for the construction and de-rig phases so that deliveries can be managed to keep contractor vehicle movements on local roads to a minimum.
