The Open Legacy Fund set to make a lasting difference in Portrush

Local residents and community groups will have the opportunity to learn more about the lasting benefits of The Open being staged at Royal Portrush during a special information evening later this month.
A public information event about The Open Legacy Fund will take place at the Portrush Atlantic Hotel at 7pm on Monday 29th April.
Each year, The R&A provides £100,000 to community groups and organisations to support projects and initiatives that will have a positive and long-lasting impact on the local environment and communities in which The Open is staged.
The public information event, hosted by The R&A and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, will mark the official launch of The Open Legacy Fund which will be open to local residents and community groups based in the town of Portrush.
Attendees will be given an overview of The Open Legacy Fund, including funding eligibility, submitting grant applications and assessment criteria.
Community groups and organisations will be able to submit funding applications via an online portal managed by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council following the event.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Brenda Chivers, added, “We are grateful to The R&A for their vision and foresight in ensuring that The Open makes a real and lasting difference in Portrush. The Legacy Fund represents a significant opportunity for the local community to identify projects and priorities which could further enhance the resort.
“I would encourage groups and organisations to think about how the Legacy Fund could be used and come together to make the most of this terrific opportunity.
