Takeover Day set to showcase tourism and hospitality careers to school pupils

Thu, April 25, 2019

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council will host The Springboard Charity’s first ever Tourism and Hospitality Takeover Day on Thursday 9th May.

The event aims to encourage young people to consider a career in the sector by giving them first-hand experience through a series of interactive workshops. These will showcase the industry at its very best and help to develop direct links with participating schools from Ballymoney, Bushmills, Coleraine, Dungiven, and Limavady. In turn, the Takeover Day will promote further engagement through quality work experience, career opportunities and modern apprenticeships.

Working alongside Causeway Chamber, the list of businesses taking part so far includes Galgorm Resort and Spa, Irish Feast, Tourism Ireland, Atlantic Hotel and Alive Surf School along with Council’s Events Team.

The event will take place in Cloonavin from 10am – 2pm with 160 school pupils expected to attend.
