Sports pitches public consultations

Mon, April 24, 2017

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council is holding public consultation events about sports pitches in the area.

All sports clubs, governing bodies, league organisers, local community groups and schools are welcome to attend.

The project will address football, Gaelic games, rugby, hockey, tennis, cricket, athletics and lawn bowls. It will include all natural and synthetic facilities, multi-use games areas, and small sided games/kick-about areas.

The purpose of the exercise is to undertake an audit of the quality, quantity and distribution of the current ‘pitch’ provision. This will be used to create a strategy that could be used to further develop the pitch infrastructure, in a way that is affordable, sustainable, inclusive, high quality and consistent with current best practice in public ‘pitch’ provision.

The events take place in Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart on Tuesday 2nd May at 7.30pm,  Sheskburn Recreation Centre in Ballycastle on Wednesday 3rd May at 8pm and Dungiven Sports Centre on Thursday 4th May at 7.30pm.

Anyone with an interest in invited to attend.
