Review into VAT associated with large events.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has welcomed the findings of a review into VAT associated with large events.
The matter was discussed during a special meeting of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council on Tuesday 2nd November 2021.
Councillor Richard Holmes said: “I’m pleased to note that HMRC has now issued a ruling on the transactions at the centre of the review, stating that Council’s approach in its treatment of the VAT transactions associated with large events is correct and compliant.”
The Mayor thanked Officers who have worked diligently on this review and engaged closely with an external VAT specialist and HMRC to illustrate Council’s position.
