The annual ‘Edwin May Nissan 5 Mile Classic’ is now open for registration.

Organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, the event will take place on Wednesday 14th August from Coleraine Leisure Centre at 7.30pm.

With a variety of categories to take part in, participants can run, sprint or jog the course.

Brian Tohill, event organiser from Coleraine Leisure Centre commented, “This event has grown from strength to strength over the last couple of years. We have 20 different categories for people to choose from including a veteran section for over 35’s to over 65’s and a male and female wheelchair category.   Many entrants will be participating in their first 5 Mile run, while others will be seeking a personal best on this flat, fast course.’

“I would like to thank the team at Coleraine Leisure Centre and Springwell Running Club, particularly Kenny Bacon for all his advice and guidance over the last few years. I would also like to thank Edwin May Nissan for coming on board six years ago and for continuing to sponsor this race.’

Kenny Bacon of Springwell Running Club added, “Springwell Running Club are delighted to assist Coleraine Leisure Centre in the organisation of the ‘Edwin May 5 Mile Classic’.  Last year’s event attracted a very large turnout of Club Members and we hope for the same this year.”
