Over 150 people attend Volunteers Week celebration

The ongoing commitment of volunteers across the Causeway Coast and Glens has been recognised during Volunteers Week.

Over 150 people from a range of community, sporting, environmental, health and wellbeing organisations attended the annual event in The Bushtown Hotel on Wednesday 5th June.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council Councillor Sean Bateson said: “Volunteers Week provides an opportunity to thank local people who selflessly give up their time to help others. Their contribution to communities across the area cannot be underestimated and I would like to offer my thanks to all those who share their time and skills with others.

Volunteers' Week takes place from June 1st – June 7th and provides an opportunity to recognise volunteering in all its diversity.

The celebration event was organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in conjunction with Causeway Volunteer Centre and Limavady Volunteer Centre.
