November Workshops at Flowerfield Arts Centre

Did you know that Flowerfield Arts Centre hosts a wide range of educational and creative opportunities for both adults and children?

During November, there are a wide range of classes and workshops to choose from, so why not try something this autumn?

The ever popular Splish Splosh Club for 3 - 5 year olds starts its next 3-week session on Saturday 9th November from 10.45am to 12.15pm. These classes are full of experimental and environmental creative play from painting, printing, collage and general fun and mayhem with an educational twist.  The total cost to participate in all 3 classes is £20.

For the slightly older artist in the family, the Mini Masterclass on Saturday 2nd November is for 8 - 14 year olds with an interest in art. The class gives a basic grounding in the use of painting and drawing techniques at a cost of £6 per child.

The Arts Centre’s very own dedicated FabLab explores art and technology with a range of courses.  This autumn/winter there is beginners’ classes in 3D printing for children on Saturday 2nd November 10am-11.50am for 8 - 12 year olds and 12pm – 1.50pm for 13 - 17 year olds. 

On Wednesday 6th November an adult session takes place from 7pm to 9pm. You will see how 3D printing works, the design process and have the opportunity to print your own design. Children’s classes cost £12, adult class £18.

The Fablab is also offering an Introduction to Coding using the BBC Microbit system on Saturday 16th November. There is classes for 8 - 12 year olds from 10am - 11.50am and for 13 - 17 year olds from 12pm to 1.50pm. The adult class will take place on Wednesday 4th December from 7pm - 9 pm. These beginners’ classes will teach you the basics of coding from scrolling text and animation, but they are also suitable for those with more advanced skills. Children’s classes £12, adults class £18.
