Needle Felting Workshop at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre

Needle Felting Workshop at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre

Wed, September 16, 2020

Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre is thrilled to announce details of its bespoke programme of autumn workshops ahead of its reopening on Wednesday 30th September.

After being closed to the public due to the pandemic for the past number of months, staff are now looking forward to welcoming participants and visitors once again.

On Saturday 17th October, enjoy a relaxing few hours of crafting in a small and friendly group at a Needle Felting Workshop from 10am to 1pm. Led by Carolyn Faith of Woolly Wild Folk, the workshop costs £12 and is suitable for ages 16+. Those taking part will be introduced to needle-felting skills, including how to sculpt a form from carded wool, blending and applying the top coat, and how to add details and shape to your models to create unique, handmade autumn decorations.

In light of the current health situation, measure will be in place to ensure the workshop can be enjoyed in the safest possible way. All materials will be provided and set up at your own personal workspace, masks should be worn while moving through the building’s communal areas and hand sanitising stations will be available. Once seated and socially distanced from others, masks can be removed for the duration of the workshop.

This project has received financial support from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Good Relations Programme and everyone at the Centre is excited to have this opportunity to use creative arts to bring people together, building positive relations and connecting people from different community and cultural backgrounds.
