Mayor’s Reception held for Peter Cromie

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has held a reception to mark the achievements of Limavady man Peter Cromie.

Having recently ran the Grand to Grand race in America, Peter was the first UK –based participant to reach the finish line, and came 2nd overall out of 119 competitors.

Competing against World Trial and Ironman champions, the event has been described as one of the most challenging multi-stage endurance events in the world.

Speaking after the reception, The Mayor, Councillor Joan Baird OBE, said: “I was delighted to welcome Peter and his family to Limavady to personally congratulate him on his achievements. Peter competed against 119 participants and showed great strength of character and determination to achieve 2nd place. I would like to wish Peter all the very best with his future endeavours.”
