Mayor’s reception celebrates Social Enterprise NI award winners

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has hosted a reception for local recipients of this year’s Social Enterprise NI Awards.

Four overall winners came from the area, with two others highly commended.

The annual event, organised by Social Enterprise NI, aims to celebrate Northern Ireland’s thriving social economy sector.

The Mayor, Councillor Ivor Wallace, said: “I was very pleased to learn about the success of our fantastic social enterprises who play such an important role in our communities and local economy.

“The awards presented on the night to our local winners were very much deserved, with five different organisations sharing six awards between them across a wide variety of categories.

“It is very encouraging to see our Borough leading the way in the sector, which has demonstrated true resilience in recent years while continuing to make a hugely important impact in our area.

“We are very proud to be home to these innovative enterprises, and I was pleased to have this opportunity recognise their success.”

The winners from Causeway Coast and Glens were:

Health and Well-being Award: CAN Compass Advocacy Network (Ballymoney)

Consumer Facing Award: Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market

Leader of the Year: Jayne Taggart (Enterprise Causeway)

Social Enterprise of the Year (small): Enterprise Causeway

Highly Commended

Best Use of Digital Marketing: The Designerie (Bushmills)

Outstanding Staff Team: The Hummingbird Project (Portstewart)
