Armoy’s fantastic appearance on Channel Four television programme ‘Village of the Year’ has been marked by a civic reception.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council held the event in recognition of their success on the show. Spearheaded by members of Armoy Community Association, the village reached the semi-final of the UK-wide competition.

Offering her congratulations Councillor Joan Baird OBE said: “It was fantastic to see our Borough showcased in this way, highlighting the very best of community life. Armoy Community Association works tirelessly to create positive change and this programme has highlighted its ongoing efforts. From a shortlist of over 400 applicants, Armoy has proved itself to be among the best. The community is rightfully proud of its participation in the search for ‘Village of the Year’ and I was delighted to host this reception to hear about their experience for myself.”
