The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has said a major expansion by Coleraine-based manufacturer Maine Surface Finishing highlights confidence in the area’s manufacturing industry.

Speaking after it was announced that the company is to create 155 new jobs as part of a £9.5m investment, the Mayor, Councillor Sean Bateson said: “Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is committed to promoting the area as an attractive place to live, work, invest and visit, and this news from Maine Surface Finishing is a welcome endorsement for the Borough.

“With job creation, plans to expand into new markets, and investment in its equipment and infrastructure, the company has demonstrated its firm commitment to the Coleraine area.

“Not only is this a hugely positive development for the company which has been a part of the town’s industrial landscape for many years, it will generate significant benefits for the local economy as well.

“I would like to offer my warmest wishes to the entire workforce at Maine as they look forward to being a part of this exciting growth and innovation.”
