The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has welcomed the Lord Lieutenant of County Antrim to Cloonavin.

Among the items discussed by Councillor Richard Holmes and David McCorkell was the Queen’s Awards For Enterprise, which recognise outstanding achievement by UK businesses in innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Speaking after the meeting, Councillor Holmes said: “I was pleased to have this opportunity to hear more about the Lord Lieutenant’s support for the prestigious scheme and how we can increase awareness and participation locally.

“Council has recently made a number of special presentations to recipients of the awards in the borough and this is something I would be keen to build on.

“I’m passionate about supporting our local businesses, and this is even more vital as the sector continues to recover from the challenges of the pandemic. I look forward to working with Mr McCorkell throughout my term to further celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship in the Borough.”
