Mayor enjoys Thursday evening racing at the NW 200

The sun shone on an evening of spectacular racing around the North West 200 circuit on Thursday evening.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird OBE.

She was on hand to congratulate Alastair Seeley who claimed victory in the HEL Performance Supersport race. The evening’s other winners were Martin Jessopp and Peter Hickman.

Speaking afterwards, the Mayor said: “It was a fantastic occasion and I would like to offer my congratulations to everyone involved. The weather combined with the road racing action created an unmissable atmosphere and I was delighted to be a part of such an exciting occasion.”

“Council works closely with the race organisers to stage this international event which attracts thousands of spectators and showcases our fabulous scenery to a television audience around the world.”
