Pupils from St Patrick’s Primary School in Glenariffe and St Ciaran’s Primary School in Cushendun have enjoyed success in ‘The Big Pedal’ cycle to school initiative.

In recognition of their achievements, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Brenda Chivers invited them to Cloonavin for a special civic reception.

The Big Pedal is the UK’s largest inter school cycling challenge inspiring pupils, staff and parents to choose human power for their journey to school.

Congratulating both schools, the Mayor said: “This annual initiative organised by Sustrans brings school communities together and not only encourages young people to get active but makes a positive difference to the environment. Congratulations to both schools for getting involved and doing so well.”
