Have your say on the future of Portrush Recreation Grounds

Tue, August 11, 2020

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is undertaking a Pre-Application Community Consultation exercise with regards to proposed improvement works at Portrush Recreation Grounds.

The proposed works, part funded by the Department for Communities, include the provision of a new pavilion building, improvements to play areas, leisure areas and other associated spaces and features as highlighted in the ‘Proposed Improvement Works - Block Plan’ below.

Under current government restrictions with regard to public gatherings, a public meeting will not be held, however Council has put in place alternative arrangements to gather the views of interested parties. Instead of a public meeting, the Design Team will hold two public events online. The events will comprise online presentation followed by ‘Question & Answer’.

These meetings are being held via Zoom and all attendees will be muted by default. To join via computer, click the relevent link below and you will be directed to register for the meeting:

Monday 17th Aug 2020 6pm-8pm

Wednesday 19th Aug 2020 1pm-3pm

Once registered you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the meeting. If you have any issues registering please email gmda@g-m-design.co.uk

Please note that if you would like to speak during the ‘Question & Answer section’ of the meeting, you will have the following options:

· Raise your hand, or

· Use the Q&A panel to submit written comments.

Public engagement is important to us, and meeting remotely is a new process. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we figure this out together. Please note that the meeting will be recorded as evidence of the event taking place and to assist the Design team for future presentations.

Event material and a questionnaire/feedback form will be made available online and physical information boards will be displayed at the Portrush Recreation Grounds at the time of the event alongside a leaflet drop to notify local residents. Further information on the proposed improvement works will be updated on this page of the Council’s website by Friday 14th August 2020.

Contact details for the Design Team will also be made available at the time of the event(s) with the consultation period closing on Friday 4th September 2020.

Please note that comments made about the proposal during this consultation period are not representations to the Planning Authority. If the prospective applicant proceeds with an application there will be an opportunity to make representations on that application to the Planning Authority at a later stage.
