Get ‘Out and About’ across the Causeway Coast and Glens this spring

Fri, March 09, 2018

A new campaign celebrating the Causeway Coast and Glens’ diverse range of outdoor activities, foodie treats and cultural products takes place later this month.

‘Out and About in the Causeway Coast and Glens’, which runs from March 23rd – 30th, features a packed programme including sea safaris, food tours and surfing.

Encouraging people to get involved with this inaugural spring initiative, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Joan Baird OBE said: “The natural beauty of the destination combined with a range of special offers means there has never been a better time to discover and explore. From the Glens of Antrim to Lough Foyle, our landscape and coastlines are simply breath-taking and we are delighted to be working with our tourism trade partners on this exciting new showcase.”

Destination Manager Kerrie McGonigle said: “Our unique visitor experiences which take place against the stunning backdrop of three areas of outstanding natural beauty have helped to make the Causeway Coast and Glens Lonely Planet’s number one place to visit this year. Located in the midst of the Causeway Coastal Route, this new campaign from Council’s tourism team aims to bring together the very best of what the destination has to offer for new and returning visitors, as well as those who live here.”

For something altogether different, enjoy a sea safari along the coast or ‘try a dive’ to explore underwater.  Tantalise your taste buds with a chocolate experience followed by a local produce meal or enjoy a ‘catch and eat’ food tour where you will dine on the freshest of fish. Learn about renowned poets, painters and playwrights from the Glens with a Riverside tour in Cushendun or challenge yourself to a guided hike from Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge to the Giant’s Causeway.  If you’re feeling a little more energetic, try surfing, coasteering, or paddle-boarding by sunset. For a more mellow experience, choose wicker basket making, a foodie tour or yoga.  Or for something completely different, Game of Thrones enthusiasts will love the Burning of the Idols Beach Experience with the Red Priestess Beach Ride.

With unique events, special discounts and lots of memories to be made, we are encouraging you to get ‘Out and About’ this March.  For full details, including special short–break offers, go www.visitcausewaycoastandglens.com
