Get online for creative inspiration from Flowerfield and Roe Valley Arts Centres

Flowerfield Arts Centre and Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre are helping to spread some positivity during the coronavirus pandemic with a series of online initiatives.
While the Centres themselves are temporarily closed, staff have been working hard behind the scenes to encourage people to get creative at home.
From daily art challenges for kids to Spotify playlists and monthly online art exhibitions, make sure to follow Flowerfield Arts and Roe Valley Arts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and online at www.flowerfield.org and roevalleyarts.com to find out what’s been happening and how to get involved.
Flowerfield Arts Centre recently launched #virtuallyflowerfield which includes the online exhibition Space, with 20 local creatives responding to the current social distancing measures through visual arts, film and creative writing. Their next monthly online exhibition ‘Quiet’ will launch on 1st May.
Join the new Facebook group ‘Flowerfield Creatives’ to avail of helpful information, opportunities and exchange creative ideas to support local creative practitioners of all disciplines. To support families at home, check out the ‘Flowerfield Creative Kids group where art challenges are shared throughout the week. Don’t forget to post your paintings and projects using the hashtag #flowerfieldcreativekids.
To accompany their weekend art challenges, the centre also publishes a Spotify playlist to boost the mood for all the family featuring Northern Irish music talent. Selected artwork created by participating children will be exhibited at the Arts Centre and everyone in the Flowerfield Creative Kids group will be invited to a fantastic ‘Arty-Party’ to celebrate when the venue reopens.
Other developing initiatives include online creative writing exercises for writers in the making, animation workshops delivered for young people and interviews with creative artists to inspire and share their tips on how creativity can really benefit your mental health and wellbeing.
Roe Valley Arts Centre has launched its Stay at Home Art Club, publishing daily art challenges for families to participate in, as well as weekly Spotify playlists to share upbeat music. Artwork created by the Stay at Home Club will be displayed in the venue when it reopens. Looking ahead, online movement and dance activities are coming soon for all ages to enjoy and to help you stay active at home.
