Stone Row Artisans, a collective of local artists and artisan food producers, celebrated the first birthday of their retail space in Coleraine town centre with a Taste Causeway tasting event and artist demonstrations.

The event was attended by many of the store’s customers who enjoyed chatting with the resident artists who gave craft demonstrations and displayed their unique ranges. The artists included Atlantic Rose, Bad Bird Crafts, Causeway Coffee, Cercle Boutique, Clearly Creative, Eoin McConnell Photography, Hand Carved in the Shed, Maxine Curran Paintings and Upainted.

Attendees also enjoyed a Taste Causeway tasting event which included a wide selection of popular products from local producers including The Chocolate Manor, Irish Black Butter, Distillers Pickle, Devils Churn Sauce, Ce Ce’s Cake’s & Bakes and Nua Kombucha.

The event culminated with the raffle drawn by local celebrated chef and Taste Causeway Ambassador Paula McIntyre, for a luxurious Birthday Hamper crammed with artisan gifts from each of the resident artists and tasty treats from Taste Causeway.

Emma Thorpe, collective member commented:

“We are delighted to be celebrating the first birthday of Stone Row Artisans and are incredibly grateful to our customers who have supported our local artisans and participated in our workshops over the last 12-months.

“As a collective we have worked together to really grow the business and have benefitted from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Strive and Thrive programme for retailers, which has given us a pathway to develop Stone Row further and to continue to showcase the fantastically talented artists that we have in the Causeway area.”

Speaking after attending the event, the Mayor, Councillor Ivor Wallace, said:

“It is very encouraging to see Stone Row Artisans giving a commercial platform to so many craft and food artisans in our Borough. Stone Row Artisans is a fantastic asset to have in Coleraine town centre which appeals to both local residents and visitors to the area.”

“Council plays a key role in supporting business growth in Causeway Coast and Glens and I’m very pleased to see its positive impact and hear directly from the collective members about how our business support services have helped them.”
