Welcoming its latest endorsement, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Ivor Wallace said: “I am delighted that the Causeway Coastal Route has topped this UK-wide list, but I am not surprised at all – if you’re looking for the ultimate road trip this is the one for you.
“We are very proud that much of the route traverses through our Borough, giving visitors unforgettable views of our coastline from the Glens of Antrim right through to the North West edge of our boundary – there is simply nowhere else quite like it.
“With many vantage points along the way, and seaside towns and villages where you can enjoy our renowned hospitality and local produce, take some time this summer to enjoy all it has to offer – it’s a special journey filled with some of the best scenery you’ll find anywhere in the world and it’s all right here on our doorstep.
“This announcement came at an opportune time for us, as our Tourism Team attended the Royal Highland Show in Scotland this month to promote the Causeway Coastal Route to the event’s 200,000 visitors.
“This was a very positive showcase for our destination, and there was a lot of interest from potential visitors.
“I am very proud of our strong tourism product and I’m looking forward to seeing the sector continuing to grow and recover as it prepares for another busy season ahead.”
