Wed, June 27, 2018

A litter pick has taken place at Benone Beach on World Oceans Day as part of Causeway Coast and Glens Council’s LitterSmart campaign.

Local community group ‘Moving on Up’ co-ordinated the clean-up which has made a real difference to the appearance of the beach.

The group volunteered their time and energy to make our coastline safe and more attractive for locals and visitors.

This stretch of our beautiful Causeway Coast is all the better for their efforts.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is keen to involve individuals and community groups in its LitterSmart initiative over the summer months.

Volunteers will be provided with litter-pickers and bags and Council will also arrange for the bagged rubbish to be collected.

For further information about arranging a litter pick in your area please contact Environmental Resource Officers at recycle@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk or telephone 028 2766 0248.
