A civic reception has been held in honour of Reversible Ploughing World Champion Tom Cochrane.

Mr Cochrane, who is a member of Coleraine Ploughing Society, clinched the title at an event in Germany in September where he took on competitors from around the globe.

Applauding his success, the Mayor Councillor Brenda Chivers said: “Tom has represented the area in ploughing competitions for many years and I was delighted to have this opportunity to congratulate him for helping to put the Causeway Coast and Glens on the world stage. He has proved himself to be the best in his chosen discipline and he thoroughly deserves this latest success.”
