Christmas is Coming

Fri, November 04, 2016

The countdown to Christmas has truly begun as the Causeway Coast and Glens look forward to welcoming a special visitor!

Santa will be making some very important stops in his sleigh as he switches on the Christmas lights within the Borough throughout November and December.

Santa has a very busy few months ahead, but his festive duties throughout the Causeway Coast and Glens are currently top of his list!

The Mayor, Alderman Maura Hickey, will be attending all the switch on events with Santa. His sleigh will be making its first appearance in Ballymoney on Thursday 17th November at 7.30pm.

Santa has also confirmed that Limavady is second on the list with its Christmas festivities planned for the 19th November at 4pm.

Coleraine and Dungiven will be lighting up the streets on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November. Coleraine will welcome Santa at 7pm on the Friday night whilst Dungiven will be able to greet him at 6pm on the Saturday evening.

It will begin to look a lot like Christmas in Ballycastle from December 1st as Santa stops at The Diamond at 7.15pm. The following evening, Portrush will get its turn as Santa hits the switch at The Amphitheatre at 7.30pm also.

The spirit of Christmas will be alive in Kilrea on Saturday 3rd December when Santa transforms the town at 5pm in The Diamond. Garvagh will be hoping Santa doesn’t delay too long as their lights are due to create a winter wonderland in the town on Monday 5th at 7.30pm.

Santa has chosen The Crescent Portstewart as his final destination in spreading some Christmas cheer, so make sure to be there from 5pm on Saturday, December 10th.

The North Pole are still finalising the finer details happening in each town, so keep your eyes peeled for more information soon!
