Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre in Limavady features a packed programme of events throughout December.

There will be family theatre, festive films and musical entertainment for both adults and children alike.

Highlights include a screening of the Christmas classic ‘Elf’ on Saturday 15th December at 2pm. Starring Will Ferrell, this hilarious film guarantees some festive cheer. An autism friendly showing will take place at 10am.

On Saturday 22nd December, the acclaimed Banyan Theatre present the magical tale of The Hedgehog Prince for children aged 5 years and above.

Based on a traditional fairy tale, the play is bursting with enchantment, featuring a bewitched boy, a giant cockerel, a king lost in a winter forest and a promise never to be broken. Using puppetry, object theatre and original music, this delightful production will capture the hearts of young and old and is the perfect family outing at Christmas.

A special art workshop for children aged 7-11 will take place before the theatre performance from 11am to 1pm.

Children will have the opportunity to make their own hedgehog prince to take home. Places must be booked in advance.

Music fans will have the chance to see the West End hit show Abbamania on Friday 28th December at 8pm. Audiences will be entertained by Europe’s leading ABBA tribute band with their fantastic rendition of classic songs including Dancing Queen and Happy New Year. This is set to be an unforgettable night in the Danny Boy Auditorium with an onsite bar and festive atmosphere.

If you are still looking for that special gift, the new exhibition ‘Close to Home’, which features unique artwork, drawings, crafts and jewellery, continues in the venue’s galleries until Friday 25th January.
