Christmas crime prevention initiative aimed at local retailers

Wed, November 22, 2017

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is working with the PSNI to help cut down on retail crime this Christmas.

The ‘Safe Shop’ initiative is aimed at informing business owners and staff about how they can prevent shop lifting and what to do if it happens in their store. Knowing your powers and rights as a retailer and educating employees can help prevent retail crime and reduce the risk of store losses.

An information event will take place in Moore’s Coffee Shop (ground floor) in Coleraine on Tuesday 28th November from 5.30pm-6.30pm.

A free crime prevention toolkit and basic security equipment will be distributed to everyone on the evening. The kit includes a good practice guide, a risk self-assessment form, a retail crime reduction guide and a business crime newsletter.

Light refreshments will be provided.
