Christmas and New Year Holiday Arrangements

Due to Christmas & New Year Public Holidays there are a number of changes to Council services, bin collections and opening hours.

Bin Collections and Household Recycling Centre Arrangements 

  • No bin collections on Friday 25th December. Alternative collection on Saturday 26th December 2020.
  • No bin collections on Friday 1st January. Alternative collection on Saturday 2nd January 2021.

Bin collections will take place as normal at all other times. Householders are reminded to set their bin out no later than 7am on collection day. Please clean bin handles before and after collection.
All household recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day (Friday 25th), Boxing Day (Saturday 26th) and New Year’s Day (Friday 1st).

No telephone bookings will be taken on Friday 25th, Monday 28th December and Friday 1st January. Bookings can be made online here at any time.

Council Office Opening Hours and Registration Services.
Staff will be available to answer calls, deal with email queries, and registration services by appointment but Council Offices are NOT open to the public to visit.
Council Offices (Cloonavin, Ballycastle, Ballymoney and Limavady) are closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Monday 28th December, reopening on Tuesday 29th December at 9am.
Council Offices will close from Friday 1st January, reopening 9am Monday 4th January, 2021.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Registration Offices located in Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Coleraine and Limavady are operating strictly by appointment.

Covid 19 Restrictions.
Please note a number of Council facilities and services will close or be curtailed in direct response to the latest measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus agreed by the NI Executive on December 17th 2020 .
This period of restriction will last for 6 weeks from Saturday, 26th December, unless stated otherwise. For full details click here.
